The University of Florida Disability Resource Center Support Within Accessible On-Campus Housing (FL UCEDD/LEND)

November 19, 2018

The University of Florida's Disability Resource Center is excited to announce the expansion of our elite state of the art accessible rooms within Cypress Hall. Cypress Hall will be expanding from 11 rooms outfitted with the SureHands lift system to 19 by the fall of 2019. The SureHands lift system, along with other accessibility features; such as video door bells, zero entry showers, and individual custom-fitted furniture, showcase UF as one of two in the nation whose campus truly embrace students with mobility impairments. UF being the only postsecondary education institution as a Top 10 research institution.

Recently, the expansion was featured in the Alligator, an independent student ran newspaper, and WCJB (the links to both features are included at the bottom of this feature).

Our hope is that you can partner with us to increase the awareness of the accessibility of UF's on campus housing, so that more students with mobility impairments can experience a fully inclusive, all-encompassing college experience within the Gator Nation.
