The Maine LEND Showcases Interprofessional Initiatives

The Maine LEND Program leaders and trainees recently displayed their contributions to interprofessional service and education at the inaugural Interprofessional Showcase at the University of New England (UNE).  One of the strengths of UNE is training students in the health and service professions to work collaboratively for better outcomes for clients in the community.

This was consistent with the Maine LEND program focus and leaders were able to showcase the Maine LEND Program; the Family Interprofessional Team which was developed by the Maine LEND; and the Transdisciplinary Toddler Playgroup was celebrated for its decade of service to students and children in the community. 

During the showcase faculty, students, trainees, staff, and members of UNE's community partners spoke about how IPE makes students/trainees better prepared. They shared examples of how the team approach helps them understand the work of other health professionals and improve outcomes for clients. The Maine LEND presented three posters including;
