Eight Participants Graduate from University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) Project SEARCH (NY UCEDD/LEND)

July 11, 2018

Project SEARCH, an international program with over 400 sites worldwide, helps young adults with developmental disabilities secure employment by providing employment training and education through on-site internships at various local organizations and businesses. Over 70 percent of interns find competitive employment after participating.

This year at URMC individuals learned valuable skills such as how to clock in, stay organized and manage time and money. They also learned the importance of honesty, reliability and a positive attitude at work. Some participants have already received jobs: one has started working at a nearby restaurant, and another will be working at the Medical Center. Join us in congratulating Joanna, Carolyn, Noah, John, Jailene, Christian, Jimmy, and Johnny on their graduation!
