MCDD's Associate Director Receives Honor from The Daily Record (MD UCEDD)

May 1, 2018

Maureen van Stone, Associate Director of the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities and Director of Project HEAL (Health, Education, Advocacy, and Law) at Kennedy Krieger Institute received an award as one of The Daily Record's 2018 Top 100 Women in Maryland. The Daily Record began the recognition program in 1996 to recognize outstanding achievements by women demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring.

In 2018, nearly 425 women were nominated for the statewide honor. Nominees completed an application outlining their educational and career history, professional and community involvement, corporate and nonprofit board memberships, and mentoring experience. Nominees were encouraged to submit letters of recommendation from those who are familiar with their accomplishments professionally, in the community, and through mentoring. Maureen attended the awards celebration at The Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall with Project HEAL staff attorneys, Mallory Finn and Alyssa Navarrete, as well as her two daughters Catherine (age 8) and Margaret (age 7) Ruopp (all pictured). Maureen previously received this honor in 2013.
