Autism CARES Webinar Series: Call for Presenters

April 28, 2018

What are we looking for?

In the coming months, ITAC and SPHARC (with support from HRSA-MCHB and a planning committee of Autism CARES grantees) will host a three-part webinar series; the theme is: "Autism in the Context of Ableism: Culture, Identity, and Quality of Life." The committee is currently seeking input for a solution-focused panel of grantees (and representatives from outside organizations) who can share best practices, innovative approaches, and lessons learned with respect to addressing ableism across contexts.

If you have recommendations or would like someone from your program, project or network to be involved in the continued planning and implementation of this webinar series, please e-mail Ben Kaufman from AUCD at [email protected].

About Autism CARES Grantee Initiatives:

Every year, ITAC and SPHARC (with support from HRSA-MCHB) host either an in-person or virtual meeting; these are opportunities for Autism CARES legislation grantees representing research, training, and state systems change efforts to share information about activities within their respective networks, discuss emerging trends, and facilitate meaningful collaboration. This process is guided by a representative planning committee, which aims to: (1) identify emerging or urgent issues facing the autism community that will give shape to the themes and structure of the network virtual activities; (2) brainstorm and discuss opportunities for network grantees to share progress and connect with external resources in these priority areas; and (3) provide feedback on completed, planned, or in progress activities.
