Update from the Division of MCH Workforce Development

April 19, 2018

Autism Awareness Month is a perfect time to acknowledge the many ways in which the Autism CARES grantees make a difference in the lives of children with ASD and other developmental disabilities (DD), and their families. This quarter's MCHB Minute is about our gratitude for all that you do!

In particular, thank you for your work in:

  • Preparing interdisciplinary professionals including families and self-advocates in providing comprehensive, coordinated continuum of care for children and adolescents with ASD/DD;
  • Improving access to care through innovative modalities including telehealth, tele-education and tele-consultation;
  • Conducting innovative research on interventions to improve the health and well-being of children and adolescents with ASD/DD;
  • Supporting the knowledge and skills of primary care providers in the care of children with ASD/DD;
  • Participating in the Autism CARES evaluation, which is critical to demonstrating the impact of MCHB's autism programs.

We look forward to engaging with all of you during the virtual Autism CARES grantee meeting this summer!
Thank you for all that you do for children, youth and their families.
