VT LEND Self-Advocate Fellow receives Dr. Ruth Christ Sullivan Public Policy Fellowship

Ms. Nicole Leblanc, VT LEND Self-Advocate Fellow, has been awarded the Dr. Ruth Christ Sullivan Public Policy Fellowship with the Autism Society. She will assist with federal, state and local key public policy and advocacy issues impacting millions of individuals and families affected by autism spectrum disorder.

Ms. Leblanc has over 10 years of experience as a self-advocate. She worked as a Disability Educator and Advocacy Director in VT's statewide organization, Green Mountain Self-Advocates. In 2016 she held the Paul Marchand Policy Internship from the ARC and interned at AUCD. She also completed a policy fellowship at Respectability. She is currently working as DDA Regional Advocacy Specialist for the southern region of Maryland. Her areas of interest are work incentives, employment, social security, education, community living and transportation policy to name a few. Ms. Leblanc's goal is to be a change agent for people with disabilities and their families at the national level.
