Indiana Debuts Disability History Website (IN UCEDD)

January 8, 2018

The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community launched the Indiana Disability History Project website on December 4, 2017. Through a collection of oral history interviews and related digital material, the website documents and preserves the memories and experiences of people with disabilities, family members, professional service providers, educators, and public officials. The site's growing collection highlights the history of advocacy for disability rights in Indiana, and features over 80 fully-captioned videos.

The Indiana Disability History Project has been undertaken by the Center for Health Equity at the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University. It is sponsored by the Indiana Governor's Council for People with Disabilities and Indiana Disability Rights. The website can be viewed at https://www.indianadisabilityhistory.org/.
