We at AUCD recognize the power of personal stories. They help to create a shared understanding of who we are and how we live our lives. They help us celebrate our successes and document our challenges. Stories empower us, and bring policies to life.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has announced the Senate will take up the American Health Care Act (H.R. 1628) as soon as June 26 with a vote on June 30. Once Medicaid is changed, there will no longer be any guarantees for eligibility or for certain services.  Home and community based services, all types of therapies, early interventions (EPSDT), home health, and respite care are all threatened. Changes to Medicaid have nothing to do with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and would only be put in place to pay for the cost of repealing taxes contained in the ACA law.

AUCD is collecting stories from you to share with policy makers. Help us put real faces on the issue and tell lawmakers exactly what the devastating implications will be if Medicaid funding is cut or capped.
