Dr. Jesse Suter Named Interim Director of CDCI (VT UCEDD)

May 1, 2017

We are proud to announce that Dr. Jesse Suter has accepted the position of Interim Director at the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion. He will be stepping into the role currently held by Dr. Susan Ryan, who is retiring after an impressive career spanning more than 30 years in Special Education and Inclusion.

Dr. Suter holds his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from UVM and has been with the Center for 11 years. In this time, he has proven himself an influential researcher and scholar, securing more than $4 million in external funding and publishing 18 refereed articles and five book chapters. Jesse is also the Co-Principal Investigator of an IES-funded grant that tests the RENEW (Rehabilitation for Empowerment, Natural supports, Education and Work) interventions, partnering with the Institute on Disability, New Hampshire's UCEDD.

In the year ahead, Dr. Suter will be leading the development and submission of CDCI's five-year core grant. As the Research Core Functions Coordinator, we are delighted to have Jesse's expertise and knowledge to help plan our coming years. In addition to the Core grant, Dr. Suter will continue to explore collaborations between CDCI, the University of Vermont, and across our national network.

We joyfully welcome Dr. Jesse Suter in his new role at CDCI, and look forward to working with him in the months and years ahead.
