AUCD signed onto a letter in strong opposition to the nomination of Senator Jeff Sessions for Attorney General. AUCD is extremely troubled by Senator Sessions' long, consistent record of opposing legislation that protects the rights of people with disabilities. In particular, AUCD is deeply concerned about the implications that Senator Sessions' nomination holds for enforcement of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

The letter signed by AUCD was sent to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. AUCD's executive director Andy Imparato has participated in multiple press calls about concerns within the disability community with regard to the nomination.
