2017 EHDI Meeting Scholarships for LEND Audiology Trainees

AUCD is pleased to announce the availability of six (6) scholarships of up to $500 each to support LEND audiology trainees in attending the in Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Meeting on February 26-28, 2017 in Atlanta, GA.
Eligibility
All current LEND audiology trainees are eligible to apply. However, priority will be given to trainees from programs that do not currently receive supplemental funding and trainees that have not attended the EHDI Meeting in previous years.
Receiving Funds
Trainees (or their program) are expected to pay all costs associated with their meeting attendance upfront and in their entirety. Awardees must fulfill all responsibilities (see items below) and submit a proper reimbursement form and relevant receipts to AUCD not later than 30 days after the end of the meeting, or April 1, 2017. This is a firm deadline and submission of expenses after this date may result in an awardee not receiving the scholarship funds. The reimbursement form and submission instructions will be provided to awardees upon notification.
Allowable Expenses
Scholarship funds can be used to cover the costs of meeting registration, coach class air or reasonable ground travel, hotel accommodations, food, and presentation materials (e.g. poster printing and shipping). AUCD reserves the right to deny reimbursement requests for items on a case by case basis. Alcoholic beverages are not an allowable expense under any circumstances.
Awardee Responsibiltiies
All awardees will be required to attend three events during the EHDI Meeting: (1) the pre-meeting (Sunday afternoon) workshop for LEND audiology trainees, (2) the EHDI student kickoff event, and (3) one of the two "Food for Thought" student-professional networking breakfasts. More details about these events, all of which are offered at no additional cost to participants, will be provided to awardees upon notification. In the weeks that follow the EHDI Meeting, awardees will also be required to take part in a one-hour focus group conference call with AUCD staff at a mutually agreed upon date and time. Awardees will be expected to share their experiences and help AUCD determine how best to continue supporting learning opportunities for audiology (and other) trainees in future years.

How to Apply
Interested trainees are required to submit:

- A current brief resume or CV
- One letter of support from a LEND Director or Training Director.
Deadline
The deadline for submitting an application is Sunday January 29, 2017 at 11:59pm ET. All applicants will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail upon completion. Notifications will be sent to applicants via e-mail no later than Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
