In Recognition of Your Outstanding Research Accomplishments

"Carli is a balanced researcher who is interested in others' experiences and problems and who grounds her intellectual work in real-life issues. She is a true researcher/activist who is determined to foster positive social change for underrepresented people through her research. Through her work for the nationally renowned State of the States in Developmental Disabilities, Carli has co-authored multiple policy reports and journal manuscripts on Medicaid Home and Community-based Service waivers. While at IDHD, she has also been active on a number of diverse research projects on issues important to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families ranging from evaluations of developmental center closures to research on sexual self-advocacy. Carli asks probing questions, pursues unchartered territory, and exhibits the professionalism and creativity needed for a young researcher. The values of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary scholarship are infused into all of her research and teaching activities. Furthermore, she has a personal commitment to ensuring that information is accessible so individuals with developmental disabilities can understand materials created. "
