In Appreciation of Your Ongoing Leadership and Dedication to Diversity and Cultural and Linguistic Competence

"Jackie’s contributions to the MCDD, and the AUCD network as a whole, have been outstanding. Over the course of her 30+year career, she has demonstrated leadership and a clear commitment to the field, both as a clinician and administrator. Her multiple, integrated roles focus on training, leadership development, developing partnerships that target the health of all Marylanders, and disseminating information and resources among persons with disabilities, their families, and professionals. More recently, her work has included a focus on advancing the inclusion of under-represented groups in the science and biomedical workforce. Each year, Jackie contributes to the development of a mini-conference held in Baltimore named "Room to Grow: Journey to Cultural and Linguistic Competency" that attracts the general community as well as LEND trainees, faculty, clinicians, and staff from a number of prestigious institutions. This year’s theme "Race in the United States and in our Healthcare Work" looks at health disparities, race in the U.S. health science workforce, and social inequities in health."
