AUCD signed onto a letter from the Friends of HRSA and the American Public Health Association urging lawmakers to support an original FY 2017 request of $7.48 billion for discretionary HRSA programs in the final FY 2017 spending agreement. The letter was sent to the Chairmen and Ranking Members of the Senate Appropriations Committee and the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies. The signatories to the letter requested that the committee members restore funding to HRSA programs that were made in earlier bills this year and urged lawmakers not to add any harmful policy riders.
