UCLA PEERS Clinic Conducts Certified Training Seminars in Australia

In August 2016, Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson, Director of Training at the Tarjan Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at UCLA, conducted a symposium on "Parent-assisted social skills training for preschool children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): The UCLA PEERS for Preschoolers Program" at the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) 15th World Congress in Melbourne, Australia.
In addition to attending the IASSIDD 15th World Congress, Dr. Laugeson also conducted a three day PEERS® Certified Training Seminar in Sydney, Australia. The PEERS® Certified Training Seminar is designed to train mental health professionals and educators who have an interest in implementing the PEERS® intervention into their clinical or educational practices. Over 40 participants attended the training seminar in Sydney, hosted by The Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
PEERS® Certified Training seminars are also offered regularly at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Upcoming seminars will be held at UCLA on the following dates:
- January 18 - 20, 2017
- February 9 - 11, 2017
