AUCD signed onto a Letter in Support of Exempting CRT Wheelchairs from Medicare's Competitive Bidding Pricing

AUCD signed onto a letter to Congressional leaders from the Independence Through Enhancement of Medicare and Medicaid (ITEM) Coalition that pressed lawmakers to approve H.R. 3229 and S. 2196, which would grant permanent exemption from Competitive Bidding pricing to Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) wheelchairs and their components. CRT wheelchairs, are used by 10 percent of Medicare beneficiaries and help facilitate mobility for many individuals with significant disabilities. Exempting them from Medicare Competitive Bidding pricing will help CRT wheelchairs and their components remain affordable and accessible.
