America is now seeing babies born in the US with microcephaly resulting from the Zika virus. The Mailman Center for Child Development in Miami, FL, an AUCD network member, is at the center of work in Miami to identify and provide care for these children and their families. Dr. Charles Bauer is one of those leading the efforts. He and others at the University of Miami - Mailman Center for Child Development are working closely with the Miami-Dade County Public Health Department and coordinating interprofessional clinical services to help these babies born with microcephaly and their families achieve optimal outcomes.
