MCDD High School Trainee's Honors & Recognition (MD UCEDD)

Meera Rothman is a rising senior at Dulaney High School in Baltimore, Maryland, and an MCDD trainee for the summer. Meera has volunteered more than 125 hours this summer on two research projects to benefit Kennedy Krieger's Psychiatric Mental Health Program and the Care Coordination Project. Meera also volunteered with Project HEAL, an MCDD community-based program, during the summers of 2013 and 2014, and presented her research at a poster session during the 2014 AUCD conference.

During her junior year of high school, Meera received a number of honors and recognition, including: the National Honor Society; Principal's list; first place winner of the Optimism Club essay contest for Maryland and South Delaware; double octafinalist at the Wake Forest public forum debate tourament; sixth place at the Maryland Qualifier public forum debate tournament; and second place at the Baltimore County tennis tourament for first doubles.

The MCDD is very proud of Meera's outstanding accomplishments, and grateful for her volunteer service this summer.
