The Power of Partnership: Project HEAL, RE/MAX Preferred, & Bertha's Mussels (MD UCEDD)

May 3, 2016

On Friday evening, April 15, 2016, RE/MAX Preferred and Bertha's Mussels celebrated their partnership with Project HEAL (Heath, Education, Advocacy, and Law). A community-based program of the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities, Project HEAL is Maryland's only comprehensive medical-legal partnership. Attorneys provide advocacy and legal services to hundreds of low- and moderate-income Kennedy Krieger patients and their families.

The celebration was held at the waterfront RE/MAX Preferred Fells Point office and attracted more than 200 attendees. Friends of Project HEAL enjoyed hors d'oeuvres catered by Bertha's Mussels, refreshments, live music by the Brian Farley Band, and raffle prizes donated by Ober|Kaler, Ballard Spahr, LLP, DLA Piper (Baltimore), and Plantbar. During the short program at the event, Project HEAL founder, Maureen van Stone presented Ron Howard of RE/MAX Preferred (both pictured) with an award for being an outstanding partner. During calendar year 2015, Ron donated $2,000 to Project HEAL. Project HEAL raised more than $4,175 in proceeds from the event. Project HEAL staff and law trainees who volunteered at the event are pictured.
