The Center on Disability and Development welcomes Dr. Meagan Sumbera as the new Associate Director (TX UCEDD)

Dr. Sumbera has been with the Center on Disability and Development for over a year as the Project Coordinator for Postsecondary Access and Training in Human Services (PATHS) and Bridge to Career (B2C) in Human Services. She earned her doctorate in Special Education Administration at the University of Texas at Austin.

While at the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Sumbera mentored pre-service special education teachers as a university facilitator. She was also a graduate research assistant on an IES Early Mathematics Intervention Project. Dr. Sumbera has presented at several national and international conferences.She is a published author in peer-reviewed journals such as The Urban ReviewLeadership and Policy in Schools, and the International Journals of Leadership Education. Her research interests include: Transition; Special Educational Policy; Access; Equity Issues in Special Education; Qualitative Methods and Applications in Educational Policy Analysis; Leadership Preparation; and Teacher Preparation.

Dr. Sumbera lives in College Station with her daughter, Nola, and Australian Shepherd, Max.
