Developmental Disabilities Receives Special Olympics Healthy Communities Partner of Excellence Award (NY UCEDD)

Special Olympics summer games opened at State University of New York at Brockport on Friday, June 5, 2015. Over two thousand athletes from across NYS were represented. During the event, Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities, the UCEDD at the University of Rochester, was a recipient of the Special Olympics Healthy Communities Partner of Excellence Award.
Many individuals with IDD receive little to no healthcare services. SCDD has been committed to helping provide better access to healthcare services for individuals with disabilities through partnership with the Special Olympics Healthy Athletes program and Healthy Communities effort. SCDD is proud to be a part of the Special Olympics Healthy Communities collaboration, promoting health and wellness to Special Olympic athletes and their families.
