October 29, 2014
New Reports Describe Long-Term Supports and Services The Research and Training Center on Community Living at the Institute on Community Integration (MN UCEDD) has released two new reports containing detailed data on services for people with disabilities and their families nationwide.
The reports are "Supporting Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities and Their Families: Status and Trends Through 2012" [link: https://fisp.umn.edu/media/download/cms/media/fisp/docs/FISP_final_w_appendix.pdf], and "Residential Services for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities: Status and Trends Through Fiscal Year 2012" [link: https://risp.umn.edu/media/download/cms/media/risp/2012_Report/RISP_FINAL_2012.pdf].
The reports describe the status of, and trends in, long-term supports and services for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in the U.S. on June 30, 2012, and are based on the center's annual nationwide surveys of directors of state intellectual and developmental disability agencies and large state residential facilities. The first report focuses on findings for small community living settings, and the second also includes large state facilities. The reports are produced by the center's Supporting Individuals and Families Information Systems Project (FISP) and its National Residential Information Systems Project (RISP).
