The AUCD 2023 Conference will be held November 5-8 in Washington, DC. This year’s theme of Emerging Leaders: Shaping the Future recognizes and focuses on the thousands of Emerging Leaders that we welcome to the AUCD Network each year and how they continue to propel our Network forward, positively shaping the future. Take this opportunity to be a part of the conversation by submitting a proposal to present a concurrent session and/or a poster. Submissions are due by June 20.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Proposes Two New Rules to Improve Medicaid and CHIP
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have proposed two new rules that would improve the service and delivery of Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services and Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program Managed Care Access, Finance, and Quality. Both of the proposed rules aim to improve the access and quality of care, improve transparency, and address health inequity within Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Louisiana FASD Summit 2023

Louisiana's UCEDD, the Human Development Center (HDC) at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, will host the Louisiana FASD Summit as an initial activity to raise awareness about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). This event lays the foundation for building engagement in addressing the lack of access to screening/diagnosing, prevention, providing evidence-based services and supports for individuals with FASD and their families in Louisiana.
African American Conference on Disabilities - June 2023

The Arizona Center for Disability Law (ACDL) and its partners are excited to announce the 12th Annual African American Conference on Disabilities (AACD) will return in person for 2023. The AACD is the premier comprehensive disability conference in the United States that addresses the intersection between race and disability. The conference examines avenues for self-advocacy to ensure the effective provision of services, resources, and enforcement of civil rights in the African American and disability communities. In the past several years, over 15,000 virtual attendees have come from all across Arizona, almost every state in the U.S., U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Africa, and Europe to learn and ask questions on a wide range of disability issues.
