AUCD Leadership Academy

The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) in partnership with the Center for Leadership in Disability at Georgia State University (GSU) is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for the inaugural AUCD LEADERSHIP ACADEMY. The 2017 UCEDD Directors Retreat and TA Institute provide an opportunity for UCEDD leaders to network, meet with their federal project officers, and learn of new initiatives, national trends, and other information vital to the administration of the UCEDD programs.

UCEDD Grants Management Series: Negotiating UCEDD-University Agreements

The UCEDD core grant application must include documentation that the UCEDD has a written agreement, MOU, or charter with the university; this is noted in the scoring criteria section of the UCEDD core grant application guidance. This webinar will present results of a network-wide survey of how MOUs are negotiated, the Sonoran UCEDD's experience in developing their MOU, and will provide ample opportunity for discussion about strategies and recommendations regarding development of MOUs.

UCEDD Grants Management: Supporting New Initiatives Without Dedicated Funding

AUCD presents a series of TA activities addressing UCEDD grant management. Topics include preparing and reporting on the core grant application, leveraging funds, university support, and more. One commonality centers share is funding; centers all have their core funding and are required to leverage funds. The question is, how do you allocate those funds and maximize relationships with funders to effectively support your center's infrastructure, activities, and development? This discussion forum on "Supporting New Initiatives Without Dedicated Funding," will provide an opportunity for UCEDD Directors and business managers to engage in open dialogue to inform and support their efforts at their respective UCEDDs.

UCEDD Grants Management Series: Needs Assessment for UCEDD Core Grant

AUCD presents a series of TA activities addressing UCEDD grant management. Topics include preparing and reporting on the core grant application, leveraging funds, university support, and more. The UCEDD core grant application must be based on data-driven strategic planning, per 45 CFR 1388.5(c)(2). State- or Territory-wide needs assessments typically inform this strategic planning process and are discussed in the "Problem Statement" section of the UCEDD core grant application. This webinar will present results of a network-wide survey of how needs assessments are implemented, the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities' experience in conducting their needs assessment, and will provide significant opportunity for discussion. 2016 UCEDD Leadership Institute

To better support the development of leaders for the UCEDD network, AUCD is partnering with The National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities (NLCDD) at the University of Delaware, of which AUCD is a Founding Partner, to offer the fifth UCEDD Leadership Development Institute.

We are constantly seeking ways to best connect the content we develop, particularly research findings, with targeted audiences. It can often be difficult to translate scholarly work in a way that is impactful and accessible to the general public. The utilization of infographics is one compelling way to support dissemination objectives. This webinar discussed what infographics are, why they are important, and how communicators can take advantage of this effective approach.

Community Conversation: A time for open dialogue and learning about diversity and inclusion

AUCD's Diversity and Inclusion Blueprint team hosts a community conversation for UCEDDs and LEND to engage in open dialogue about the challenges they face in services, programming, and recruitment in regards to diversity and inclusion. This is an opportunity to also share strategies to better improve practices, as well as the operational and infrastructure considerations to support those practices. This conversation will be facilitated by Anab A. Web Accessibility: What it is and Why it is Important to Your UCEDD (an archived CEDC Webinar)

EIEC Webinar: Improving Child and Family Outcomes: Systems change through the Early Childhood Personnel Center (ECPC)

It is a place to find accessible information on current topics in self-advocacy. Key areas of the site include a listing of self-advocacy groups, a video story wall, an online learning center, and research studies translated into accessible documents.

EIEC Webinar: How Persistent are Developmental Delays in Young Children in the US?

This presentation will explore this issue using data from 2 longitudinal samples of US children. The findings have important implications for how developmental services should be configured. This talk is geared toward MCH professionals who work with young children at risk for developmental difficulties.
