Webinar Description:

Despite higher rates of healthcare utilization, families of patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) report higher levels of unmet needs, and significant difficulty using healthcare services. The Autism Friendly Initiative at Boston Medical Center is working to address these challenges by optimizing the healthcare experience for patients with ASD. This webinar will introduce participants to the work of the Autism Friendly Initiative, and to strategies of care optimization that are tailorable to any kind of healthcare practice. At the end of this webinar, participants will understand more about the specific challenges that face patients with ASD when seeking healthcare, and will feel more prepared in determining how to address those challenges at their respective practices.
