Webinar Description:

This webinar will address the Community Training UCEDD core function. This is the third installment of a multi-part series titled "Coffee and TA," addressing the UCEDD core functions as categorized in NIRS.

Canyon Hardesty, M.S., CHES, is the Director of Community Education at the University of Wyoming, Wyoming Institute for Disabilities (WIND). She holds an M.S. in Health Care Ethics from Creighton University and an M.S. in Health Education from the University of Wyoming. Ms. Hardesty is also adjunct faculty at the University of Utah, Department of Pediatrics as the Wyoming liaison for Utah Regional Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Canyon has worked at the WIND since 2013 and has been involved in the translation of ECHO from health to education and is dedicated to needs based and real-time community training known to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families.

Laura has 30+ years' experience in the disability field. A Licensed Professional Counselor and former special educator, Laura has invested the last 20+ years providing training on the local, state and national levels. Employed by the Texas Center for Disabilities at The University of Texas in Austin, Laura is a founding partner of the Institute for Person Centered Practices (www.person-centered-practices.org) there. Prior to her employment there, Laura coordinated the Texas Partners in Policymaking program, a state-wide leadership and advocacy training program for parents of children with developmental disabilities and adults with developmental disabilities, for 8 years.
