The Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) and the Early Childhood/Intervention Special Interest Group (EC SIG) of AUCD have joined with The National Early Childhood Personnel Technical Assistance Center (ECPC), funded by the Office of Special Education Programs, U.S. Department of Education (OSEP), to host the Second Annual Summit on Early Childhood Personnel at AUCD's 2017 Conference.

One representative from each University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and/or Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and other Disabilities (LEND) is invited to attend this Summit. Each UCEDD and/or LEND is encouraged to also invite one State partner.

National speakers will highlight current research, policy, and practice to support the competence of the growing workforce who serve infants and young children with disabilities in quality, inclusive early childhood environments.

Attendees, Cost, and Registration

Each University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) and each Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopment and Other Related Disabilities (LEND) program can send one representative to the Summit. The UCEDD and/or LEND representative(s) can also invite one State partner of their choice to the Summit.

There is no cost for registration. Lunch will be provided. If you have any questions please contact Danielle Johnson

The Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel
is located at 999 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC. The negotiated room rate for AUCD is $239/night. You must make a reservation prior toOctober 12, 2017 to receive the negotiated rate. Please note that room blocks fill up quickly and the special rate is only available as space permits at the hotel.

 

Booking a hotel room:

*Please note, if you are also attending the AUCD Conference, you must register separately for that on the AUCD 2017 Conference website.

If you have already booked your room for the conference and now plan to attend the Summit, please just keep your current reservation. If you need to extend your reservation to arrive earlier, contact the hotel directly at 202-898-9000. *Please note that we do not have rooms available prior to an 11/3 check in.

To make a reservation online, go to the AUCD-Renaissance reservations webpage. Follow the prompts to enter your check in and out dates and other information. Select Find and the next page will show a Standard Guest Room or ADA Room selection with the $239/night rate. **Note that your selection of accessible accommodations (i.e. roll-in shower), double or king room type, etc. MUST be entered under the "special request" section during your booking process.  Follow the additional prompts to complete your reservation. You may reserve a room to start on Friday November 3rd and if staying for the annual conference can book through to Thursday, November 9th.
