The Human Development Center (Louisiana's UCEDD) is hosting a 2-day institute (April 23-24) on best practice for building and implementing multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS, aka Response to Intervention or RtI).  National experts on law, science, and best practice for supporting students using MTSS/RtI will work with school leaders and practitioners to provide state-of-the-art information. Topics include (a) IDEA regulations and OSEP policies, and case law, (b) what science says about the efficacy of different SLD identification methods, (c) use of professional norms to build a best practices MTSS/RtI, (d) improving and engaging school leaders in implementation, and (e) how effective behavior support contributes to prevention and promotion efforts.
