This webinar, sponsored by AUCD's Council on Research and Evaluation (CORE), was organized for those interested in conducting research funded by the National Institutes of Health. The webinar covered all aspects of strategic grant writing, including: which NIH institute to target, applicable funding mechanisms, how to prepare NIH applications, and how applications are scored by review committees.

Associate Professor and Associate Head for Research in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Arizona, and Affiliated Faculty Sonoran UCEDD
Dr. Gordon received her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oregon, Eugene. Dr Gordon's areas of expertise include public health tobacco cessation interventions delivered in dental and medical settings, web-based self-help tobacco cessation programs and educational programs for healthcare practitioners, and computer-based tobacco prevention programs. She has been the PI or Co-Investigator on more than 25 tobacco cessation and prevention projects funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Dr. Gordon has authored and co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, and presented widely at national and international scientific conferences. She has served on several proposal review committees, editorial boards, and professional societies. Dr. Gordon has also served as a mentor for post-doctoral fellows, medical residents and junior faculty members.
