Part 2: Using Digital Video

Video is an invaluable tool that has been used for many decades to enhance the effectiveness of professional development, technical assistance, and dissemination activities - the difference is that it is now a great deal easier and vastly more affordable to shoot, edit, and distribute video. This webinar introduced key concepts regarding digital video and illustrated many ways that it is being used. Resource and guidance materials on low-cost digital video recorders, accessories, and software that were discussed in the webinar are available at:


Larry Edelman is a Senior Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics in the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado where he serves as one of the primary instructors for the Interdisciplinary Training Program at JFK Partners. As an ongoing consultant to the Colorado Department of Education and the California Department of Education's Desired Results access Project, he assists with the development of approaches to professional development, technical assistance, and dissemination. Larry has worked with hundreds of agencies in more than 45 states and abroad as a professional development and organizational development specialist. He has written, edited, and produced dozens of professional development programs, materials, and videos that have been adopted throughout the United States and internationally. Larry has contributed to initiatives related to early childhood supports and services, early childhood assessment, outcomes measurement systems, and instructional design. Currently, the emphasis of Larry's work is on the use of technology to enhance professional development, technical assistance, dissemination, service delivery, group processes, and strategic communication activities.
