The Combating Autism Act Initiative (CAAI) has multiple strategies for combating autism through increased research, dissemination of best practices, and expanded training of health professionals in the field of autism and related disorders. The Nisonger Center at the Ohio State University invites LEND programs and trainees to log in to this webinar to hear more about the Autism Intervention Research - Physical Health (AIR-P) Network, one of the programs funded by HRSA as part of the CAAI.  

Participants will learn about the AIR-P, its activities, its connection to the Autism Treatment Network (ATN), and the opportunities for collaboration with LEND programs in training, research and service delivery.  This webinar is of particular interest to LEND Directors and Training Directors, as well as other LEND and UCEDD staff with an interest in autism spectrum disorders. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe the existing practice parameters for managing children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders.
  2. Describe the purpose of the ATN and AIR-P programs.
  3. Discuss current progress of the AIR-P program.
  4. Outline the future goals of the ATN and AIR-P programs.
