Secretary's Advisory Committee Meeting on National Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Objectives for 2020

The Secretary's Advisory Committee on National Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Objectives for 2020 will hold a meeting on the Internet on  February 23, 2009 from 4:30 p.m. to  6:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).  The meeting will be open to the public. 

Members of the public are invited to listen to the February 23, 2009 online Committee meeting. To attend the online meeting, individuals must pre-register to attend at the Healthy People Web site. There will be no opportunity for oral public comments during the meeting. Written comments are welcome throughout the development process of the national health promotion and disease prevention objectives for 2020. They can be submitted through the Healthy People Web site or they can be e-mailed. Please note that the public comment Web site will be updated throughout the Healthy People development process, so people should return to the site frequently to provide their input.

Participation in the meeting is limited. Registrations will be accepted until maximum capacity is reached.  Registration for the online meeting must be completed by 9:00 a.m. EST on  February 23, 2009.   A waiting list will be maintained should registrations exceed meeting capacity. Individuals on the waiting list will be contacted as additional space for the meeting becomes available.  For detailed instructions about how to make sure that your Windows-based computer and browser are set up for the  online meeting using WebEx software, please visit the Healthy People Web site.
