This Webinar will help Conference attendees as they prepare for their trip to Washington, DC. It will provide a brief overview of AUCD and orient attendees to the content and structure of the 2015 AUCD Conference. This year's theme, "Growing Leaders, Driving Change," will examine how we develop strong leaders, support them in their work, and collaborate with others to reach our mutual goals. Whether you're a newcomer to the field or a seasoned professional, the AUCD Conference provides countless opportunities to share with and learn from colleagues and peers. The 2015 AUCD Conference will feature nearly 200 concurrent and poster presentations over the days of the conference on topics ranging from policy to research to state and community projects and much more, offering a multitude of opportunities for fruitful discussion.=0D=0A=0D=0AAttendees will learn how to navigate the week's agenda through the conference app, website, or in the printed program and find events that match personal interests and expertise and/or topics key to their position responsibilities and organization's initiatives. Tune in to learn how to get the most out of your time at the AUCD Conference!=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0APresenters=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0ATanisha Clarke, MPH=0D=0A=0D=0ATanisha manage's technical assistance activities of AUCD's contract with the Administration for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (AIDD). The contract is funded under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000 and provides funding for the UCEDD Resource Center (URC), supporting the national networks of AIDD-funded University Centers of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research, and Service (UCEDDs). Prior to joining the AUCD team, Tanisha worked as the Program Planner Analyst for the Florida Center for Inclusive Communities (FCIC), a UCEDD at the University of South Florida. In her role at FCIC, she worked on projects such as the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities, and the Partnership for Effective Programs for Students with Autism. In addition, Tanisha served as the Academic Advisor for the Center's Graduate Certificate in Positive Behavior Support.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0A=0D=0ALiz Weintraub=0D=0A=0D=0ALiz Weintraub serves as the Advocacy Specialist for the Public Policy Team. She has a long history of leadership in self advocacy, and has held many board and advisory positions at state and national organizations. In addition to her part-time position with AUCD, Liz also works for the Council on Quality & Leadership (CQL) and is a faculty member of The National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities at the University of Delaware. Liz is the immediate past chair of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council. She also consulted for the National Children's Center in Washington, DC, and was the President of the Board of Directors for Shared Support Maryland, a progressive provider organization.
