She received her master's degree in early childhood special education and doctorate in special education and public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has held early childhood and early childhood special education positions for the past thirty five years including: early childhood teacher; Executive Director of the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children; Policy Specialist, Council for Exceptional Children (CEC); Program Specialist, US Office of Special Education Programs; and most recently, Research Professor, School of Education and Human Development, University of Colorado Denver.=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AJane Squires, Ph.D., Director, Center on Human Development, Professor, Early Intervention/ Special Education, University of Oregon=0D=0A=0D=0AJane Squires, Ph.D. is a Professor of Early Intervention/Special Education, Director of the University of Oregon Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and the Early Intervention Program at the University of Oregon. Dr. Squires directs research and outreach projects in the areas of developmental screening, implementation of screening systems, early identification of developmental delays, and the involvement of parents in monitoring of their young children's development.
