NCCC Director Providing Keynote Address at International Conference. The Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association of NSW (MDAA) and the National Ethnic Disability Alliance (NEDA) has invited Tawara Goode, Director of the National Center for Cultural Competence (NCCC) in association with the Center for Child and Human Development (DC UCEDD), to speak at their "From Tolerance to Respect: Cultural Competence in Practice" Conference in Sydney, Australia between September 7 and 8. The focus of the conference is on practical approaches to working with people from diverse backgrounds by providing local, national and international perspectives on best practice in responding to community diversity and competing needs. Ms. Goode will be highlighting some of the efforts within the AUCD Network and the AUCD Multicultural Council. Cross-National Study Designed to Connect Citizens with Public Services. The Institute for Community Inclusion (MA UCEDD) is starting a cross-national comparative research study funded by the IBM Center for the Business of the Government. ICI research associate Heike Boeltzig, MSc, is collaborating with a researcher at City University London to learn about UK and US initiatives that successfully reach disadvantaged groups and equip them with the skills and motivation to use the internet, particularly government e-services.
