Postdoctoral Fellowship at Tarjan Center at UCLA.  A 2-year, full time postdoctoral fellowship is offered in the Tarjan Center , Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  Under the supervision of Dr. Mary O'Connor, the fellow will participate in research in the UCLA Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Program.  Research and clinical training will be provided in a community based project designed to test the effectiveness of a social skills training program for children with prenatal alcohol exposure.  The fellow is expected to have some experience with children and families and a strong research background.  Experience working with diverse populations and fluency in Spanish is preferred.  Dates:  July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008 (start date may be flexible).  Stipend:  $36,000-$40,000 plus benefits.  To apply for the fellowship please submit a CV and 2-3 page statement of research and clinical experience and interests to Mary O'Connor, PhD, ABPP at 310-206-6528.  Application deadline:  May 30, 2006.

Several Research Positions Available from Child Trends.  Child Trends, founded in 1979, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization (based in Washington DC ) dedicated to improving the lives of children by conducting research and providing science-based information to improve the decisions, programs, and policies that affect children.  The following link possesses a number of research positions currently open at Child Trends.  Job descriptions and contact information is included. 

White House Internship Program.  The White House Internship Program offers an excellent opportunity to serve our President and explore public service.  We are seeking exceptional candidates to apply for this highly competitive program.  In addition to normal office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, tours, and complete an intern service project.  Interns may serve a term in the Fall, Spring or Summer. All candidates must be at least 18 years of age, hold United States citizenship, and be enrolled in a college or university.  Applications are due June 16, 2006 for the FALL 2006 term (September 5 to December 15, 2006) and; Applications are due October 13, 2006 for the SPRING 2007 term (January 9 to May 11, 2007).  We hope you will explore our White House Intern Website for additional information.
