September 24, U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings will lead a presidential delegation to the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China, on Oct. 2, 2007, and participate in a Global Policy Summit on the Well-Being of People with Intellectual Disabilities. "I'm honored to join this distinguished group in representing the United States at the Special Olympics in China, and I'd like to thank the People's Republic of China and its citizens for hosting the games," said Secretary Spellings. "Special Olympics has always focused on people's abilities, not their disabilities.
