AUCD ANNUAL MEETING UPDATE

The AUCD Board of Directors and the Central Office wish all of the participants attending the Annual Meeting safe travels to Washington, DC, as we are looking forward to seeing you next week.

AUCD's 2006 Annual Meeting is next week!  With over 450 participants attending, we are hosting several interactive workshops and concurrent sessions, networking opportunities, and exciting activities.  Here is a sneak peak of what is in store: 

  • Mike Winer, a nationally recognized expert on collaboration and creating partnerships will deliver the opening presentation
  • Dr. Ed Kame'enui, the Commissioner of the National Center for Special Education Research, US Dept. of Education, Institute of Education Sciences will present.
  • Katherine Guernsey, an international lawyer and consultant, Judy Heumann, Senior Consultant, Global Partnership for Disability and Development and Dr. Haidar Saeed Alyousof, Executive Director, Dubai Educational Council, Government of Dubai will all present at the International Plenary.
  • Martin H. Gerry, Deputy Commissioner for Disability and Income Security Programs, SSA; Greg Weltz, Director, Office of Youth Services Office of Workforce Investment; Elizabeth Seale, Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation for Community and National Service and Alison Johnson, Acting Director of the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities of the CDC will be speakers at the Federal Plenary.
  • 70 presentations at the Poster Session and Reception (on Halloween) highlighting the research and work of the AUCD network.
