MODDC is in the beginning phases of developing the next five-year state plan (FY 2022 2027) as required by the DD Act. The state plan is the strategic plan that will guide the work of MODDC through goals and objectives that are the steps MODDC plans to take to create change. The development of a Comprehensive Review and Analysis and completion of the following: Gather information from various data sources to address the sections of the Comprehensive Review and Analysis (as described in the DD Act). Such data sources could include State of the States, Residential Information Systems Project (RISP), Employment State Data, National Core Indicators (NCI) and data from state agencies whose constituencies include people with I/DD. Gather public input from individuals with developmental disabilities, their families and stakeholders, on the issues of importance to Missourians through surveys that are culturally competent, and conducting listening sessions held each region of the state, and Analyze the data collected and develop meaningful summaries to inform MODDC about services, supports and other assistance available and the extent of unmet needs for services to people with I/DD and their families. Present findings to the members of MODDC at the January 2021 Council meeting. MODDC believes that individuals, parents, and family members are the most powerful forces in forging a responsive and flexible support network for people with I/DD. Therefore, it is the intent with this investment, these stakeholders, individuals and their families in addition to other stakeholders are engaged in the activities defined above, that will lead to the development of the Comprehensive Review and Analysis. MODDC expects that outreach will address diversity that includes, but is not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age and disabilities. |
