CLEE Transition and Self-Determination Project Description
Objective II.G. Promote best practices in transition and self-determination to at least 22 school districts and 700 teachers and parents per year.

SERVICES PROVIDED BY CLEE:
CLEE staff can assist students, teachers and school systems by providing:
Training for teachers on using the Self- Advocacy and Self-Determination curriculum
Training for teachers on writing Instructionally Appropriate IEPs
Start up and follow up technical assistance by phone, email, or on-site
Follow up sessions to report outcomes
Other transition assistance targeted to the needs of individual schools
EXPECTATIONS FOR TEACHERS:
Teachers receiving instruction set up classroom instruction using the Self-Advocacy curriculum
Teachers conduct classes within a 9 week period
Teachers setup a co-teaching experience with the school
Teachers report data to CLEE from Pre and Post-tests for each student as well as the overall outcomes/opinions of the curriculum/course
SELF-ADVOCACY CURRICULUM TRAINING:
Basic training that qualifies teacher and other school personnel to use the curriculum.
Intensive coaching with students by CLEE trainers
Direct assistance to students upon requests
All services are provided free of charge





Self-Determination and Transition Activities Classification
Awareness:
Presentations at conferences
Career Fairs and Transition Fairs
Emailing information about services or trainings
Self-Determination - Transition Flyers and brochures
Visits to schools to meet with teachers or administrators to discuss training Marketing activities
Training:
Actual training to teachers on the Self-Advocacy Instructors Manual or how to write
Instructionally Appropriate Transition IEPs in accordance with Indicator 13.
Technical Assistance:
Any contact with professionals that have been trained. Examples include questions about the curriculum, planning, additional resources and questions about new policies.
Technical Assistance can be performed via email, phone or on-site.

Intensive Coaching:
Performing Direct Model/Demonstration of Services
Use of the Self-Advocacy Instructors Manual (also referred to as curriculum)
Transition planning directly with the students
