Project Description
The Tarjan Center will join the collaboration, with a primary focus on improving employment outcomes and statewide system policies and practices for youth and young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Tarjan Center collaborates with state and local agencies including Californias Department of Developmental Services, Department of Rehabilitation and EDD, as well as Disability Rights California, California regional centers, California educational partners, community colleges and others.

The Tarjan Center will:
Participate in quarterly DEI meetings to share positive practices and strategies for the preparation and inclusion of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (IDD) in competitive integrated employment (CIE).
Disseminate Weekly CECY E-news with practices provide as appropriate address positive practices, share strategies.
Convene quarterly topics specific to CECY meetings that address policy and practice to advance competitive integrated employment for individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in California systems.
Research, prepare, and disseminate weekly CECY E-news with timely information with resources, training opportunities, policy changes on the employment of individuals with disabilities.
Establish a working relationship with one of the DEI Los Angeles America Job Centers to assess local needs, available resources, and facilitate community partnerships for the employment of individuals with IDD.
