Project Description
The Munroe Meyer Institute (MMI) and the Omaha Public Schools (OPS) have maintained a contractual arrangement for the provision of all physical therapy services, including supervision of such services, for the District's eligible students since 2000. MMI has contracted to provide educational OT & PT services to eligible students in the District since 1984. Beginning in 2008 the Bellevue Public Schools has requested comparable servcies.

The two school districts provide physical therapy services to approximately 800 students during a school year. The services are provided to each student through an Individual Education Plan/Individual Family Service Plan (IEP/IFSP) meeting process, and range from semi-annual observation and reporting to one hour per week of direct therapy. The services are provided in family homes, in the community and schools throughout the district.

Physical therapy services include educational diagnostic and evaluative services as well as consultative, integrated and direct therapy to students, all in accordance with District's policies and procedures, and all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The latter include, but are not limited to, Nebraska Department of Education Rule 51, Regulations and Standards for Special Education Programs.
