Education: Ms. Cole's areas of educational interest include graduate training of primary care nurse practitioners in developmental disabilities and in training of nurse practitioners who choose to sub-specialize in the area of developmental disabilities. She has worked to implement evidence based information into graduate nursing curriculums on developmental surveillance and screening, identification of developmental disabilities in primary care, provision of high quality primary care to individuals with disabilities, and psychopharmacology considerations in individuals with developmental disabilities.
Service: Ms. Cole's primary areas of interest and expertise are in optimizing health and well-being of children with complex developmental disabilities and chronic health conditions through targeted health monitoring, anticipatory guidance, developing standards of care, and family education and support. Although this model of care is applicable across different types of disabilities, much of her work has been with children with cerebral palsy, autism, intellectual disability, and multiple disabilities.
