Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice (IDRPP) is home to one of six equity, diversity and inclusion coaches who advise the nation's university-based centers on disability. Dr. Eduardo Ortiz's role with the Associated University Centers on Disability lasts through September 29. But he said work on understanding diversity and its intersection with disability should-and will-continue much farther into the future at IDRPP

AUCD Policy Fellowship 2021
The purpose of the Fellowship is to provide significant experiences in national level activities related to policy and legislative development, advocacy, program development, technical assistance, and AUCD administration. The office is preceded by yearslong efforts encouraging equity, inclusion and diversity at the Institute and in the community.
Kennedy Krieger Institute's new Office of Health, Equity, Inclusion and Diversity (O-HEID), established last month, represents a significant step in the Institute's journey to cultivate and encourage a community of equity, inclusion and diversity.

AUCD Policy Fellowship 2020
The Policy Fellowship is an opportunity for an advanced network member to live and work in Washington, DC for one year, learning about AUCD, current legislation affecting people with disabilities and their families, and exercising leadership skills. The Fellow's responsibilities will be developed based on the needs of the Association and the interest and experience of the Fellow. Deadline: March 31; start date: September 2014.

AUCD Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act
As we begin 2020, we as a nation, including the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This landmark civil rights legislation impacts the lives of millions of Americans with disabilities and protects against discrimination and ensures and improves access to opportunities afforded to all.

Local Partnership Leads to International Connections (MT UCEDD)
In the fall of 2018, the Rural Institute for Inclusive Communities at the University of Montana (UM) and Summit Independent Living Center hosted Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, from Hanoi, Vietnam, who was visiting Missoula, MT as a Mansfield Center Professional Fellow. Van represents two organizations that provide vocational training and independent living skills for people with disabilities in Vietnam.

The White House Forum on Criminal Justice Reform and Disability
The White House and the Center for American Progress hosted a forum on criminal justice reform and people with disabilities. The conversation included experts in criminal justice reform, disability rights advocates, policymakers, and individuals directly impacted by the criminal justice system.

AUCD2015: Submit a Proposal Today
Deadline: June 5
AUCD is currently accepting proposals for our 2015 conference. This call for papers includes submissions for concurrent interactive presentations, concurrent panel presentations, single presentations, and posters. Proposals are welcomed on a multitude of topics on all things disability, including but certainly not limited to advocacy, behavior supports, disability studies, employment, health and wellness, leadership development, self-determination, technology, and much more.

At the Disability Policy Seminar on Monday night, Senator Harkin announced a new campaign led by six national disability organizations to achieve six national goals by the end of 2015, marking major anniversaries of the ADA and IDEA.
