Nisonger Center and DD Council Nursing Workforce Study Podcast

The Nisonger Center, in partnership with the Ohio DD Council, released a podcast on Spotify discussing our study of the DD Nursing Workforce Crisis. Ohio DD Talks is a podcast series featuring stories and conversations with Ohioans with developmental disabilities about current issues that are important to them. The developmental disabilities nursing crisis affects individuals with DD and their families across Ohio. This episode features Mackenzie Burness and Stephanie Hosley of Ohio State University Medical Center, who will discuss the public health workforce crisis, their research, and what we can do.



DD Act Partners Directors' Presentation with the DRC-NH, NHCDD, & IOD

The directors of the Disability Rights Center NH (DRC-NH), the NH Council on Developmental Disabilities (NHCDD), and the Institute on Disability (IOD) recently created a video to discuss how their organizations work together to remove barriers to people with disabilities living fully inclusive lives in their communities. Stephanie Patrick (DRC-NH), Isadora Rodriguez-Legendre (NHCDD), and Kelly Nye-Lengerman (IOD) talk about the importance of building leadership and supporting advocacy in the continued fight for disability justice.



AUCD Policy Fellowship 2020

The Policy Fellowship is an opportunity for an advanced network member to live and work in Washington, DC for one year, learning about AUCD, current legislation affecting people with disabilities and their families, and exercising leadership skills. The Fellow's responsibilities will be developed based on the needs of the Association and the interest and experience of the Fellow. Deadline: March 31; start date: September 2014.



Iowa UCEDD Capitalizes on Partnerships to Promote Employment First

Recent production of a two-part television series highlighting National Disability Employment Awareness Month combines the Iowa UCEDD's emphasis on promoting Employment First with its commitment to information dissemination. Entitled "The Power of Employment," the series aired on "Hello, It's Us!", a weekly Public Access Television program produced by the UCEDD dedicated to educating viewership about a variety of disability-related topics through the lens of community inclusion.
