A Virtual Mock Developmental Assessment: Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Leadership During COVID-19

The Alaska LEND Without Walls is a program that has embraced video teleconferencing as a method to reach faculty and fellows across the geographically vast state. During the current pandemic, the Alaska LEND program utilized a virtual environment for all activities. As part of the annual fall semester "face to face" seminar, interdisciplinary faculty and fellows participate in a mock developmental assessment.

LEND Audiology Trainees Learn Strategies for Early Diagnosis at EHDI 2019

The 18th annual Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Meeting welcomed nearly 1,000 diverse stakeholders on March 4-6 in Chicago, IL. The EHDI Meeting brings together those who work in state-based EHDI Programs, assist in EHDI efforts on the federal level, provide screening, diagnostic, and early intervention support at the state level to young children who are deaf and hard of hearing and their families, and deaf and family advocates. The Meeting is organized by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Hands and Voices, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services: Health Resources and Services Administration, and National Center for Hearing Assessment & Management at Utah State University.

Irene Forsman of MCHB Recognized for Dedication to Pediatric Audiology Training

Irene Forsman, M.S., R.N., Director of the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening and Intervention Program at the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) was recognized for her dedication to Pediatric Audiology Training. She was honored by the Pediatric Audiology Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) programs during a trainee reception at the 2010 Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
