The Nevada Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Technical Assistance (PBISTA) Center located within the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) has received three awards this quarter. Nevada PBISTA Director, Dr. Ashley Greenwald, was the recipient of the Association for Positive Behavior Support International's Ted Carr Practitioner Award, an award to recognize an individual who embodies the mission and vision of supporting individuals and organizations to reach their full potential using a person-centered and humanistic approach.

One of the center's top leaders, Kaci Fleetwood, was also recognized for her outstanding contributions to the university and the community as the awardee of the UNR College of Education and Human Development's Administrative Faculty of the Year. Additionally, PBISTA was selected this year as the recipient of UNR's Thornton Peace Prize, in recognition of being an organization that exemplified the premise that use of force is not an acceptable way of settling disputes. The center is honored and appreciative of both the recognition nationally and within the state of Nevada.
