The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities Hosts ECHO Partner Launch Training

The Wyoming Institute for Disabilities will host a two-day virtual training specifically for UCEDD and LEND organizations interested in launching a Project ECHO network. The training will be held virtually via Zoom August 7 - 8, 2023 and will provide comprehensive knowledge about the ECHO model, including operations and best practices, for implementation.

Person-Centered Supports for Vaccine Access

No Wrong Door (NWD) programs and grantees have a key role to play in supporting people to gain needed information to navigate and take action in the context of the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency. This includes supporting people to take action that is supported by public health guidance, including accessing the COVID-19 vaccine. Applying a person-centered lens, it is critical to help people have the information they need and to balance what is "important to" and what is "important for" them.

It weaves together theory, human development, assessment, case examples, and treatment applications to reframe maladpative behavior in terms of strategies for self-protection. Healthy Relationships and Healthy Sexuality for People with Developmental Disability

Everyone desires to love and be loved. The myths and misconceptions about people with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) often lead to rules and restrictions that make healthy relationships difficult to obtain. This webinar will explore the facts and myths around relationships and sexuality for people with IDD. We will discuss the importance of laying the foundation for healthy relations early on through social skills and sexuality education. Resources and strategies for teaching healthy sexuality will be presented. In addition, we will discuss the role of healthy sexuality education as a primary prevention tool for sexual abuse and other strategies to promote sexual abuse prevention.
