AIR-P Research Day at Autism CARES Meeting 2024: Translating Research to Community Impact
The Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health (AIR-P) will be hosting its 7th semi-annual Research Day on July 22, 2024, in conjunction with the 2024 Autism CARES Meeting. This virtual event is an opportunity to highlight research related to the physical health and overall well-being of autistic individuals. The 2024 theme is "Translating Research to Community Impact" and will feature poster presentations from across the nation. This virtual event is open to all.

2024 Leadership Academy Informational Webinar
This webinar offered interested potential applicants an opportunity to interact with the AUCD Leadership Academy faculty. The webinar featured a brief overview of the 2024 Academy curriculum and timeline. It was followed by a time for questions from potential applicants to the 2024 AUCD Leadership Academy. In addition, alumni will shared their reflections about the benefits they gained from participation in the week-long academy. and the follow-up activities.

24th Annual Chronic Illness and Disability Conference: Transition from Pediatric to Adult-Based Care
Because of increased awareness of transitioning to adult-based care, clinicians are required to update their knowledge of the changing strategies for integrating emerging adult-based care into practice. For all conference participants, there will be a discussion of the legal issues involved in healthcare transition, as well as time to meet and talk with faculty in small groups, exchange ideas among participants, and share knowledge and information about how best to plan for a successful transition to adulthood.

Reflecting UCEDD Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Commitments in the Core Grant Application
AUCD hosted a webinar in September 2021 on incorporating the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (ED&I) Action Plan into the UCEDD five-year plans. In this follow-up virtual workshop, UCEDD leaders will discuss strategies for demonstrating their ED&I commitments in the needs, evaluation, organizational capacity, and leveraging sections of the core grant application.

2021 Emerging Leaders Post-Conference Workshop: Storytelling
Storytelling is an empowering technique to share one's stories and deliver messages. Individuals with disabilities, families, and allies often use storytelling to amplify their voices. This strategy uses audio, images, or video to engage with an audience creatively. Workshop participants will learn and apply skills in digital storytelling to communicate their unique experiences as trainees. This workshop was an AUCD 2021 Post-Conference event for emerging leaders.

The OSU Nisonger RRTC Knowledge Translation Process
Presenters from The Ohio State University (OSU) Nisonger Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) will provide an overview of knowledge translation (KT), discuss general methods and specific strategies to conduct KT activities with stakeholders, and describe their research project's KT model and process. Participants will also see examples developed by the team in consultation with the project's Disability Experience Expert Panel, a group of research partners with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
